I have just been reading Pris' post on her interest in dreams and it has inspired me to write this post.
For many years now I have had a recurring dream, I would say for at least the last 10 years.
In my dream I am a staff nurse (I trained to be a registered general nurse and qualified) and I am on a night-shift on a hospital ward. The actual ward I am on in the dream does vary, sometimes medical, sometimes surgical and the staff and patients who feature in the dream differ.
I am busy carrying out my nursing duties to the best of my abilities and focusing on a high standard of patient care...however...
There is a problem and that is the same problem in each dream I have...and that is, that my UKCC (the nursing body who issue and monitor registration) registration, has expired!!!
Without this update of registration which is approx: every 3 years, an RGN cannot practice...eeww.
Only I am aware of this fact, and although I am competent in my dream, what I am doing is illegal.
I am riddled with guilt throughout the whole shift (the whole dream in fact) but am too scared to confide in anybody and am on edge all the time waiting to be caught!
I never actually get caught but have the fear of being exposed.
I have woken up in the night in a cold sweat because of this awful scenario...
I have never nursed without being registered in real life, nor would I ever do so, but I have this dream so regularly, it's like a bad secret.
I have tried to interpret this dream on many occassions but to no avail.
Does anyone out there have a clue as to what it all means???
I haven't had this dream for a few months now. I probably will now because I have brought it to light...ha. Oh no! another restless night.
